Office of the Registrar

The Office of the Registrar at Baba Guru Nanak University (BGNU) is responsible for academic administration, student registration, maintenance of academic records, examinations coordination, and establishment and human resource matters. The Registrar works under the Vice Chancellor and coordinates with faculties, departments, and other offices to ensure smooth academic and administrative operations.

The office oversees admissions-related records, degree issuance, transcripts, discipline regulations, and statutory compliance. It also handles establishment and HR functions for non-teaching staff and supports the university’s governance structure through proper record-keeping and communication with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and other bodies.

What We Do

Key Functions

Academics & Registration

Student registration, enrollment, academic calendar, course registration, and maintenance of student academic records.

Examinations

Coordination of examinations, result processing, transcripts, and degree issuance in line with HEC and university regulations.

Establishment & HR

Non-teaching staff appointments, service matters, leave, promotions, and human resource administration.

Statutes & Records

Maintenance of university statutes, ordinances, regulations, and official records of academic and administrative decisions.

Liaison

Liaison with HEC, government departments, and other institutions on academic and administrative matters.

Discipline & Compliance

Student and staff discipline regulations, compliance with university policies, and support to statutory bodies.
