The Directorate of Academics at Baba Guru Nanak University (BGNU) is responsible for the planning, coordination, and quality of all academic activities across the university. It works under the Vice Chancellor and liaises with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), faculties, and departments to ensure that curricula, programs, and academic policies meet national standards and support the university’s mission.
The Directorate oversees curriculum development and revision, program approval and accreditation, quality assurance, academic calendar and timetabling, syllabi and course offerings, and academic regulations. It coordinates with deans and department heads on academic matters and supports faculty development and student academic affairs in line with HEC guidelines and university statutes.

Design, revision, and approval of curricula for degree programs in line with HEC guidelines and university standards.
Coordination with HEC for program approval, accreditation, and compliance with national higher education policies.
Implementation of quality assurance mechanisms, internal reviews, and preparation for external accreditation.
Preparation of the academic calendar, semester schedules, and coordination of timetables across faculties and departments.
Support to deans and departments on syllabi, course offerings, academic regulations, and faculty development initiatives.
Oversight of academic policies affecting students, degree requirements, and coordination with Registrar and Examination Office.
